i think i'll switch to linux mint; it's a ton more sexy.
the only problem is that in all of the reviews i'm reading, it's labelled as the distro for WINDOWS REFUGEES or LINUX NUBS.
i am neither, and am apprehensive about being branded as such. i would be perfectly willing to soldier on with ubuntu if i had the fucking internet, but i don't, so it's basically impossible.
